Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to do to get this training?

Find a green button on this page and click it. It will have a form to fill out. Fill it out! It sends us an email. We contact you and connect you with a regional de-escalation center. They work with you to schedule a date that works with you. They give us the dates, and we send our trainers to you.

How is this free?

We went through the process with the COPS office of the DOJ to get our Crisis Intervention & De-Escalation Course vetted and approved by them. In addition to the obvious content, they were looking for programs that encouraged trauma informed policing as well as community oriented problem solving. We were one of seven companies approved to provide this training. Their Office then distributed micro-grants specific to De-Escalation, but offered this training free to sworn agency that needed it. They utilize a regional De-Escalation Center that connects agencies with providers. We take the guess work out of who you get to train your staff.

Do you have a Train-the-Trainer?

We did. What we saw is that the officers coming through were trained on the content, but their depth of knowledge was limited to what they were taught in class. We saw that most agencies would send an officer to get trained, then eventually bring us in to conduct the training.. There are a lot of great police trainers out there, but where Get Safe excels is transferring our knowledge from us to the student.

Can non-sworn personnel attend?

Of course! Through this grant, non-sworn personnel can attend the training IF the host agency is sworn AND a majority of the class are sworn law enforcement officers.

Why Get Safe?

We have been around for decades. We work with communities and law enforcement. This allows us to hear the complaints from both sides. We use this information in our training to bridge the divide between cop and community. We know that all cops are also parts of community, but not all communities have an understanding of our cops. We give a voice to community and law enforcement using the training and experience of our instructors that is quite extensive.

Is there a guarantee?

Absolutely! If there is something you are dissatisfied with after receiving our training, let us know! We will do everything we can to make it right and fix it.
